About Michael

Michael Madden is a renowned burn and trauma surgeon widely recognized for his care of the injured. For more than two decades he served as the Clinical Director of The New York Hospital–Cornell Burn Center, a nationally and internationally recognized center of excellence. And at the same time, he was the founder and the Director of the Level One Trauma Center at The Jamaica Hospital Medical Center addressing the needs of those suffering catastrophic and life-threatening trauma.

Michael has been a prolific researcher and author, contributing extensively to peer-review journals and surgical textbooks. His work has been presented at numerous national and international meetings providing invaluable insights into the care of injured patients. His research on wound healing and skin substitutes has been groundbreaking, and his findings have had a significant impact on the way in which patients are treated.

Despite his illustrious career in medicine, Michael chose to retire early from surgery to pursue his passion for writing. He has since become a successful author, with several published works to his name. His transition from medicine to writing is a testament to his diverse range of talents and interests and underscores his unwavering commitment to pursuing his passions.
